A strong R & D department
The R & D department solves development tasks for Orbital but also for its customers. We are fortunate to be very busy and you will be able to use your competenses to solve your own tasks here and you will also work closely with skilled specialists.
Orbital´s components for wind turbines consist of a TMC2 control computer and a line of other quality components where the R & D department is responsible for the development of products. The development tasks for our customers are very different, both in content and size. The denominator for the projects are keeping it agile and in close dialogue with the customers.
Automation solutions
The employees in the automation department all have electrical qualifications which they use to solve exciting automation projects going from welcoming the customer, to design and development of PLC controls, to commissioning tests. PLC and HMI types from Schneider, Siemens, Rockwell are being used.
The customers are Danish machine builders from various lines of business, mentioning a few such as agriculture, biomass and food. Orbitals automation department offers our customers one focal point who provides service throughout the whole process. This involves travelling to the customers, commissioning the plant and troubleshooting. SCADA issues can be remedied from our staff in Skjern.
Danish production
Orbital runs its production unit in Denmark right next to our administration building at 5, Trykkerivej, DK-6900 Skjern.
This offers flexibility to our customers when changes in already placed orders are necessary. Furthermore, it is important to keep the jobs in Denmark. Orbitals 100% Danish production unit offers good job prospects to especially hourly paid blue collars
The production ensures to build control boards in single piece production and in serial productions. This is also available in the production of electronics. A precondition to keep the production is Denmark is a constant focus on employee optimization. This enables Orbital to offer jobs which contain implementation of quality and production management, hereunder KPIs, ISO, LEAN and so forth.
Exporting controlling systems
Many of the customers in the wind turbine industry are export markets. It goes for local markets such as Germany but also remote markets such as Japan, China, New Zealand, USA and Canada.
As an employee at Orbital you will be working internationally where your language skills will be jogged every day. You will also gain experience in working with customers from many different cultures around the world.
With digital communication platforms you will be able to work closely together with customers globally from the office in DK-Skjern. If you hold working or studying experience from travelling or staying abroad, it will be an advantage for you when applying for a job at Orbital.
