Stefan Jaensch joins Orbital as Senior Developer in the R&D division on 4th of April, 2022. Stefan takes office at Orbital headquarters in Skjern. His work and responsibility areas will be hardware and software development, support and sales of wind turbine solutions, project management, development of test systems, and documentation.
With the employment of Stefan, Orbital frees up resources in the organization, and Stefan becomes a key player in the R&D department. Stefan is already a well-known face among some of Orbital’s employees since he worked for Orbital from 2007 to 2014 and was involved in developing several products, including hardware and the TMC3 controller algorithm. Thus, Stefan already knows the technical details behind Orbital’s various wind turbine components.
Stefan has an international background from growing up in Germany where he also finished an MSc in microelectronics at the University of Mittweida near Leipzig. During the studies, Stefan focused on ASIC design, VHDL programming, microcontroller techniques, signal processes for microsystems, integrated circuits, analog as well as digital technologies. The studies also included a semester in the UK and internships with large industrial companies in Germany, including Siemens.
After graduating, Stefan worked for four years as a research assistant at the University of Leipzig in the fields of RF techniques (2.5 GHz), microcontrollers, analog, and digital current design, PCB manufacturing, C-programming, and mechanical constructions. Most recently, Stefan has worked as an electrical engineer at Conset in Skjern, where he has been responsible for electronics development and production. In addition, he has also studied additional MSc courses in database and software at Aalborg and Aarhus University.
