Extending operation time for wind turbines in Northern Ireland

The operation time of older wind turbines can often be extended by just changing the controlling system.. Duncan Plant in Northern ireland is a service firm specialized in this. A complete renovation of a Nordex 150 kW wind turbine in Northern Ireland is an example of a project where Duncan Plant chose Orbital as controlling manufacturer. The wind turbine suffered poor operation, so it was decided to renovate the wind turbine with a complete TMC3 retrofit kit, including OrbiSCADA. Since renovation in 2016 the wind turbine has performed with 100% availability.
